The Park is in set in a spectacular location on both sides of the Onaero River and surrounded by native bush.

Explore picture-perfect Mt Taranaki, stretch your legs and enjoy the natural beauty of Egmont National Park.  Hikes and family-friendly walks are perfect to soak in the backcountry and geological heritage. Drive Surf Highway 45 and take in Taranaki’s coast boasting 180 degrees of ocean swells, along the rugged and wild coastline.

With 57 powered sites and 30 unpowered, our camping area is spacious, lush and peaceful – exactly the way a campground should be.

Cabin

Our cabin sleeps up to four people and is clean, cozy and has everything you need for a comfortable stay – as well as a few extras like outdoor games!

    White Cliffs Walkway

    Dramatic coastal scenery, black sand beaches and regenerating native forest are key features along this popular walkway. Make sure you check tide times before you go – as some of the walk is along the beach.

    Chaddy’s Charter

    Chaddy’s Charters is one of the oldest attractions in Taranaki. It was set up by ‘professional sea dog’, David ‘Chaddy’ Chadfield, in 1993, and has operated continuously since then. It was taken over Carl Hayman and Kiko Matthews in October 2020. It provides a wildlife cruise to NZ’s most northern fur seal colony as well as bike, kayak and standup paddleboard hire and lessons. As well as customer satisfaction, the community and environment are at the heart of the business.
